Make the home page more useful

I think the super easy wire download is sufficiently simple, if it is linked by a big button on the front page, and not at the bottom of a big confusing post.

Even better, would be if someone could just make a .exe to do the whole job of installing an svn client, installing Wiremod, and creating a desktop icon to update it.

But that is the point, installing an svn client. I don't wanna bloat my system with it. I'm not a developer so Wiremod is literally the only thing on my system that would have a use for it. And installing a program to maintain an addon for a game is... well i'll not say all the words I got on my mind right now. And using easy wire downloader is basically the same, its a program, too. It doesn't have to be installed, I give it that. But from the perspective of necessity it is still bloatware, and technically, unnecessary.

Yeah, I spose, you are right. We as power users/devs kinda do get blinkered from how most people see the game. The welcome message Wiremod now has should remind people to download a new version if theirs gets really out of date anyhow.

I agree with adding content to the front page for beginners. That would be helpful.

I also want to mention that Wiremod is free, open-source software made by 14 year old furries. Accessibility to handicap people is not a huge priority.

Remind me sometime to make a SVN updater DLL... or even a Lua one if Garry ever unrestricts file.Write.

Perhaps we should suggest to garry the ability to specify the extensions able to pass through file.Read and Write. So we could then make .e2 and .adv files for E2 and Adv dupe. :P

Anywhom, I am not totally against a simple download. Since us powerusers seem to always have to guide people step by step we might just as well add a quick download from the svn directly.
