Of course you found those threads them searching on topics. You didn't go to the last page of a section and posted because of that.

And first two post are by total coincidence from the very last pages of contraptions and saves and ideas and suggestions.

edit:
I actual thought it was funny.
Okay it is anoying if it happens all the time, but to see people actively post in a ancient thread, makes me laugh.
Above all where someone says at some point, "hey, this thread is a year old!" and the posts just keep on coming.

But don't go afterwards on about that you had no idea.
With the amount of intelligent posts you have, I really can't believe that.

i think would be good thing to lock any threads that have been unactive for over 1-2 months. that would keep n00bs from bumbing useless threads

I agree with the idea but I have a idea to add to it. Guru People could mark some threads as permatiment like the CPU tutorial so that they don't have to remake it so often and so noobs can learn them.

(I think the CPU tutorial is actually stickied)

AFAIK only the mods have the ability to sticky items so that posts never leave the first page, I don't think anyone else has that ability.

I've had a couple of pages that I posted that thought should get sticked (as I answer the same question over and over), but lacking mod powers, it ain't gonna happen.

Maybe something like that would work... perhaps a "One-Week Sticky" for the Wire Gurus (I think the post rank for that should be higher, like 300 posts or so, to keep the "noobs" from doing this alot). That way their post would stay up for longer than it would otherwise.

I like the idea, a combined approach usually works better than just a single solution.

So pointlessly pointing out the pointlessness of this pointless signature is utterly pointless.

Better yet, somebody needs to make a wiremod FAQ.

I agree with fox: Instead of sovling problems usely take more then one solution. Like world hunger needs more then one solution, u can grow more crops(one solution) but u need to fiqure out a solution to give those crops to other people. They have many groups that do that(many solutions). Sure world hunger is still true but the many solutions are helping to lower(less people) in hunger.

Let's do that too.

Perhaps a Guide to Posting Sticky, and a Sticky to help explain what the particular main thread is about. Such as contraptions and saves, explaining that's what its for and not off-topic posts, etc. etc. etc.

Then we can poke them in the eye for not reading it

I don't see whats wrong with bumping old threads. If the thread is bumped and the bump is relevant, then a lot of people can benefit from it. If someone bumps an old one in a way to be annoying, just warn/ban them and delete the bump. If the thread gets trashed and derailed before then, warn/ban and delete the posts trashing it.

Having old threads locked gets kind of annoying, especially if there's a legit question or reason to bump it after a few months.

My opinion can be viewed above.
