Hey, with the Supermarket Grabber Game, is that outdated or something? Unless you can post to Expression :P

I just noticed around in the pages of posts in this thread and you said you wouldn't paste the Expression for us. You told us we have to build our own concept. Well, I suck at Expressions, and I tried my hard with the Expression tutorials, and nothing <_>
And besides, I wasted like and hour making the stupid Grabber, ending up for the Hydralics to fuck up and the timer not starting.

You call hour a waste? I spend DAYS if not WEEKS working on things and having fun with it. Dude, if the time spent in gmod is a waste for you, drop it, because the only way to learn is by failed and/or successful experiments...

Seriously, if you can't follow the other tutorials the expression gate is way too advanced for you.

No, first off, your wrong. This is not hard for me because I've built more complex. And I had to give it because I couldn't find the Expression. So what else was I suppose to do?

Okay, this is what I have so far in my expression chip, yet the time on the screen wont show up and the moving panel where the Grabber goes on goes out too far.

N@Grabber Game
I@Time Start XPlus XMinus YPlus YMinus
O@TimeLeft OX OY Run Reset
1.
2. Mode == 1 & XPlus & OX < 110 -> OX += 10;
3. Mode == 1 & XMinus & OX > 0 -> OX -= 10;
4. Mode == 1 & YPlus & OY < 110 -> OY += 10;
5. Mode == 1 & YMinus & OY > 0 -> OY -= 10;
6. Start & !Mode -> Mode = 1;
7. Run = (Mode == 1 ? 1 : 0)
8. TimeLeft = 60 - Time, TimeLeft < 0 -> TimeLeft = 0;
9.
10.
11.
12.
13.
14. Reset = 0, !Mode -> Reset = 1;

That's what I have, and it screws up some of my things.

First off, the entire expression is visable from one point or another. Second, I go over exactly what I'm doing into my microphone, it should not be hard to pick up on that. Third, yes, I don't post expressions.

If you're struggling with expressions, then work on them, that is my best advice, take something you made before without one and make it so that it uses the least amount of chips possible by using an expression.

And what do you mean by "with the Supermarket Grabber Game, is that outdated or something" ...no it's not out of date, everything available for viewing is up to date.

Finally:

Agreed. That's the point of gmod, to create and discover on your own. Spend time, as much as you need, and figure things out for yourself, there is a reason I say to understand the concepts, it's because I *don't* want to find someone recreating what I make, I want to see them take my concept and make it into something newer and better! Believe it or not, I don't spend only 15 minutes on something that I'm making for the first time! Each of the contraptions I've tutorialed I have made from scratch at least 5 times, most of them more then that! It's a habbit by now, I know what I'm making, do not expect to make something good and original in 15 minutes.

My advice to you: Learn patience and determination, it is the key to engineering and thus gmod.

It isn't. When I make a tutorial, I decide to make it and finish making it within a 20 minute period. To be honest, I never know when I'll be making one (I can only guess).
