    Default Precision engineering :(

Ak, we really need more precision engineering tools in GMod, ideally compatible with wire.

Anyone feel like making some? :P

Edit: @Syranide: Did you understand what I meant about the physgun-enabled grid for SmartSnap? I think this would help a fair bit.

Easy Precision Tool. Need I say more?

This + SmartSnap = Epic Win. It's included with the PHX SVN these days too.

EDIT: They're both indispensable tools, but I keep encountering needless hurdles with my building that'd be solved with a new STool, or a new addition to an existing STool, here or there. Alignment is something that causes me some hassle for example. I'd love to be able to quickly align anything, in any way, to anything else and it literally be accurate to millimetres.

This is achievable easily with the Easy Precision Tool. I've been trying my hand at massive automated machines recently and I've needed to be highly accurate in places. All I used was a combination of Easy Precision, SmartSnap and Stacker. Use Easy Precision and SmartSnap to easily align stuff fairly accurate, then nudge it into its final place with the Easy Precision tool. Just set the nudge distance to something small. I've found 0.25 to be useful on everything I've been trying to make so far. To make the tool accurate to a single millimetre set the nudge size to 0.04.

What we need is a replacement for the Phys Gun. Its old and outdated. I needs modes and secondary functions. Think how useful it would be if you could switch the beam to be a ballsocket on the end so you could spin wheels and open doors without that rigid spaz. Then if you could adjust how fast you drag props with it so you can place with precision.

There has to be other things that old bastard needs. Think of them and then get to it!

So true, the phys gun is really old, maybe people could stop phys bouncing (e.g pressing something against a wall and the it flies off) and yes I know you can right click the left click but still.
