--update--

after further research, this method does not 100% work, its only 99%. constraints will not be as strong as when you originally make them

however, it does make a noticeably huge difference when you dupe with/without them

(things like welds might sag just a tiny bit)

so even with this known, it is still worth doing it, as it does provide a huge difference.
