    Default Fun with changing weights

Hey guys, let me first off say I'm not totally sure this is the right place to put this, since it doesn't really apply to wiremod (though maybe someone can find a use for wiremod to make this better)

Anyway, I've been messing around with g/wire-mod for a couple weeks now and I decided to try out changing weights of things (I had just made a scale and I was bored haha). Anyway, I'm not sure if this has been discussed here before or not, but I'm happy with myself anyway :P

Ok, what I did was connect two 1x1 plates (phx props) via a hydraulic (I just used a normal hydraulic since my intentions were simple). At first I made the top plate as small of a weight as I could (usually around 1x10^-30). I found the effect to be pretty cool. It hovers there, but not exactly - it kind of glides if you push it. One end will dip down and act like a glider-type thing. I haven't expanded this much past the primitive 2-plate deal I have here, but I'm still experimenting with it. At first, I thought I might be able to have it carry people (or larger objects at least) but unfortunately, any weight larger than the plate (50 units) causes it to sink to the ground. Any suggestions? Oh, and I swapped the top and bottom plates so that the heavier plate was up top and the light one on bottom, it seemed to work better.

And a question about model manipulator - does it just change the appearance of the model, or the actual physics of it too? Thanks

Again, if this is in the wrong place or something, please let me know. But this is basically the biggest gmod-related forum I know of.. if theres another that would be more suited to this, lemme know

Weight is clamped to 1..50000kg range, force of constraints linearly depends on ratio of weight of attached objects, almost

Model manipulator changes the model, though in my experience it doesn't change the hitbox ><

And also, this community is rather small compared to Facepunch Studios. Although I hate going there.

The heavier two constrainted objects are, the stronger the constraint (rope, etc.) is between them.
