Default Working on some various models 2.

Beers models are great. I always thought it was a shame that there were just a few of them.

In the past week I've picked up modeling seriously. I had messed around a bit before, but that was just a matter of hours.
After asking Beers permission and receiving some golden tips, I thought it was time to make a thread.

So far I've made a new ranger and gyroscope.

Some comparison with the old models:
    Ranger polycount: -44.4% (160 versus 288)
    Ranger texture: -87.4% (43 versus 342kb)
    Gyroscope polycount: -58.5% (840 versus 2024)
    Gyroscope texture: -66.6% (117 versus 351kb)

What do you guys think? I am wasting my time or should I continue?
    Any suggestions?

    Please let me know.

    Great work.

    Keep it up.

I suggest taking screenshots in a map with some form of lighting.. the lighting (or lack thereof) in flatgrass is awful. These are looking pretty good.

I'm not sure I'm sold on the ranger yet though.. I don't really like the bright white area. Perhaps try replacing that part of the texture with some sort of grille/vent looking thing.

The ranger is awesome, except the white bit should be grey imo

Can you make a few new plug models like a usb or something else small?

You are definitely not wasting your time, updated models is always a good thing

Also, take screenshots with graphics on highest and aa plz

    Thanks for the replies.

Grey color for the ranger coming up. (I actually planned it to be grey, but it turned out more white.. I didn't dislike it so it stayed.)
What about the gimbals on the gyro? I'm really not sure about the color of those. Maybe also metalic?

I would have thought a ranger would be a large cube with a thin cone or tube on the end for the beam.

I like the models. What program(s) did you use? I have always wanted to get into modelling but never have. Maybe you could write a tutorial on how to make models, because these are amazing.

The problem with the gyro is that it's not really possible to "update" it in my opinion, an electronic gyro just looks like a boring chip.

saying that, what about making it like these; Gyroscope Rotors
