i dunno if it could work but did you try to no collide the turrets ?
i never tryed it out myself yet![]()
hey people this is my first post as im used to searching the forum completely before asking ...
now basically i have an idea for something (secret) and i want a turret and/or lazer on it, sounds simple right ...
well what i want to do is be able to make a turret/lazer shoot through my prop/item of choice e.g. a metal plate,
i just want to know if its possible in anyway shape or form and if it is ... how would i go about making it myself,
im hoping for a quick reply but no worries if its not
thanks in advance guys

Sorry for my English.

Thats what i have done, as a test i no-collide the lazer/turret, the plate its welded too and the plate its shooting at, and it doesnt work,
also i tried the "fading door" tool and that was the same as shooting a normal plate,
help meeeeee lol im stuck
ok i've been searching around a couple of servers and asking people half say f**k off n00b you know cause nobody was in my position .. ever ! and the others either didnt know how or didnt know if it was possible,
to be honest i dont see how it cant be possible but i could be wrong (fingers crossed its possible)

just make an extension out of the prop, then shove the turret/laser outside the prop, no collide it ect before, then invi- it.
thats actually a really good idea and useable, but if i wer to go for aesthetics then i would need the turret/lazer to appear to be coming directly from the cube ... thanks for the tip though![]()

I have seen some stool called detail welding or something like that,
it would create 1 prop and everything you clcik on would we welded without andy movement,
but it also allows all props to go thrue the ground
That's because it turns prop_physics in to prop_details.[/b]![]()
i was just reading another thread about welding and how "unstable" it is when making large object and such, and i noticed that the tool above turn props into prop_ details and they can fall through the floor/world, now would this mean that the prop would now be passable by any object e.g. npc/player/lazers/projectiles ... ?

any ideas are much appreciated
thanks again.
That kind of "welding" is called parenting. It doesn't weld, it parents.
The object you parented to is now dynamic (Actually, some parenting STools it really does just fall through world), that doesn't mean it can fall through world but it "welded" to something, most parenting STools, it's you, some, other people.
It is a not so very good method of "welding to self"
The complex is almost always better.
