    Smile [E2] holoModel changes in UWSVN

    holoModel has now been modified in the UWSVN to work like holoModelAny.
    The function name is not holoModelAny, though. It's still holoModel, but it accepts any model. This means that if your server still has the custom extension called holoModelAny, and you use that instead of the regular holoModel function, your holograms' scales will not be limited correctly.
    The changes made by the UWSVN are also disabled by default, and you must use this console command:
    Code:
    wire_holograms_modelany 1
    to enable them. The console command saves over server restarts (or it should) so you (shouldn't have to) don't have to put it in the cfg file.

    Edit: Oh and this required a few harmless changes to the official SVN to work... so you have to update both of them if you want this on your server.

    Looking at the wire svn commits, I see you added the ability for holoModel to work with any model but it was removed by McLovin. I know McLovin was working on his holoModelAny for quite a time now, and I see it in the e2 docs now:

    But it hasn't been committed to the svn yet. Do you know if the holoModelAny is about to be added? Or maybe it should be removed from the e2 docs if not so. I am really looking forward to making a couple contraptions with it.

    That's correct. I committed it to the official SVN, but McLovin didn't want it there, so he removed it again. He then said it was ok if it was in the UWSVN, with a convar to toggle it. That's what this thread is about. Read the op

    So is their anyway to vote or something to at the very least get it enabled by default in the unofficial svn?

    The situation feels incredibly suspicious. I totally expect this additional disabled-by-default functionality for the holoModel function is only temporary until holoMesh is finished, at which time it will be deemed too exploitive and silently removed, again.
