Forum Rules - Please Read

Please read and follow these simple rules. Failure to do so can result in infractions to your account or a ban.

What Wiremod.com IS, and what it is NOT.

• Wiremod.com is the project web-page for wiremod, a Garrys Mod Addon. The primary purpose of this site is for the advancement of wiremodders, those who use our resources and code for wiremod.
• Wiremod.com is also a resource for related projects. The term "related" is used loosely, and it is at the moderators and admins discretion as to what this applies to.
• We do provide the facilities for off topic discussion. These are provided as a privilege, not a right. These places are meant for intelligent gatherings, discussions, and general FYI's. They are not meant to be used to post gossip, blogging, or advertisements. As a general guideline: the more the topic in question interests/directly affects the community as a whole, the less likely it will be snipped.
• This is NOT a meme board! The occasional use of image macros, l33t speak, and trolling for laughs is accepted. Unless it's an approved trolling thread, there should not be more than a meme or two per thread, unless the meme can be used to convey an important and constructive point which would take an extraordinary amount of time otherwise.
• Due to the shitstorm of the century proportions that can be generated, outright insulting religion or religious people is not allowed ANYWHERE on this board. This means under no circumstance, regardless of the thread or forum. This rule isn't in place for the reason of censorship or to save feelings, it's because when the shit flies, the wiremod management has to clean it up.
• Just because the wiremod management does it, doesn't mean you are allowed to as well. "Do as I say, not as I do."

General/Common Sense rules:

• No flaming, spamming, warez, pornography, etc.
• Keep the swearing to a minimum.
• Be respectful to other members.

Forum/Wiremod-specific rules:

• We do not, and will not help anyone who is trying to exploit or ruin the game for others. Threads like this get an immediate one week ban, second offense will be permanent.
• Don't create the same thread multiple times (especially if a previous one was deleted by a moderator). If you want one moved or deleted, use the report button.
• Don't make useless polls such as "Do you like my contraption?", "Should X be added to wiremod?", "Do you think Y is a good idea?"
• Don't post if you only have negative comments and nothing constructive to add.
• Don't bump old threads unless you have something important to add to the discussion. If it was helpful to you, use the "like" button, or add reputation. While a "thanks" is nice, it clutters the forum and makes it more difficult for OTHER readers.
• Don't double-post without a good reason. Edit your post instead, that's why the feature is there.
• When quoting a post with big picture(s), remove them from your post.
• When asking a question, please explain your problem in as much detail as possible; and always search before posting.
• Don't hijack or go off-topic in other people's threads.
• Don't minimod, use the report button and we'll take care of it. In other words, don't tell other members what or what not to do.
• If you use someones code, or even just part of it, give them credit. Blatant plagiarism will NOT be tolerated.
• Do not complain when somebody doesn't want to release his contraption.
• Reputation points are to be earned, don't beg for them (this includes in your signature). Same with likes.
• Keep your forum signature under 200px tall or so.
• Write your posts in the best English available to you.

Help and Support Forum

• Read the stickies. Nobody likes to help someone who doesn't write a well formed help request.

Signatures may not be larger than 200px tall.

Administrative and Moderation Disclaimer
The rules listed in this thread are a guideline, not law. Moderators can infract you for anything. If it weren't for the fact that there are people who try to use every loophole they can find, we wouldn't have to make this kind of statement. This avoids all the political bullshit that people try to create so they can get their way.

Another note while we're on the topic:

If you receive an infraction from a staff member and believe that it was given wrongfully, for any reason at all, or you would like to appeal it, follow these steps:

• Contact *only* the staff member who gave it to you for reversal, this eliminates confusion, and allows them to properly reevaluate the punishment while holding all of the correct data.
• Do not spam the shout box with complaints, it's not going to help your case
• All of the above rules that Beer posted still apply, if you use swear words and act like a two year old, you will be treated as such; this may actually increase the severity of your punishment.
• Be polite - On multiple occasions I have reversed infractions even though the affected users plead guilty, the reason being, they were polite, took responsibility, and agreed not to break the rule in the future.

If you follow the above steps, I can guarantee that your infraction will be considered for reversal.
