    Default Semi-Realistic (WireMod) Magnet

DISCLAIMER: I do not make any claims to the realism of this magnet, and there are obvious flaws (no poles, etc). When I make this I set out to make merely a more realistic magnet, not a 100% accurate-to-real-world one.

If you've ever tried the "Source" magnet, you'll realize it's pretty lame, and pretty much welds things touching it to itself when it's on. Pretty sad, eh?

Well, after way too long of a wait, here I have the solution. A semi-realistic wire-compatible magnet!

    Some docs:
    Strength is...strength
Effect Length is units away from the magnet's origin that a prop has to be within to be moved
The inputs are On, Strength, and Length (I think)

    Download:

Also, if you are yearning for the multiplayer-magnet experience, [BB] Sandbox just happens to be running this :P

    Fun Fun [possible] Future Additions:
    • Weld props touching the magnet automatically to reduce lag
    • Target-only-metal option (requires doing a trace=more lag)
    • More data in the overlay (I tried but it didn't update :\)
    • What else? Suggestions?

Lua. We can’t allow humans to handle our economy, just look at how US’s economy is declining. Silly humans.

Will a negative strength repel? Also, does this use Newton's third law (is there reaction force on the magnet)?

If so, I sense magnetic trains being made in the near future.

EDIT: Does the magnet affect attached props?

    Yup, negative strength repels!
But no (to the newton laws), the magnet doesn't get repeled or attracted to other objects, maybe in a future update?

It's a lot of fun to play with! Recommended download for sure!

Cool stuff. I will be adding this to my server tomorrow when I wake up (would now.. but it's 2am). The IP is revanserver.game-host.org for anyone who is interested (and yes, that is a valid IP)
