I made a thruster based servo for my VTOL finned propeller Airship rotors. It works well enough and just uses a gyro and an advanced input and tries to match angles before it weld latches. It also uses the roll to the world so it keeps things level to that which is great on anything that flies.

    That's freaken amazing Zeos.

Oh, Is this accurate at any angle?

    (Unlike Gyroscope)

No it uses a gyro so it can get screwed up. BUT If I never welded it or if it was still and on the ground it would be perfect for vertical applications. But I gave it +/- 5 degrees of error so that it wouldn't constantly try to adjust while flying. I also didn't need to integrate any sort of delta speed control as the parts it is moving are HEAVY. I may sit down and make one and tutorial it. But only after HEAVY refining.

Hydraulics are better than servos for swashplates, I've found. No real reason to use servos.

You can do the degrees/sec thing with a smoother. It'd still be a nice feature to be built in though.

Hydraulics are actually a more realistic way of controlling a swashplate as well. That's how they're done on the outside... where there's sun and stuff...

There's sun outside? tell me, what is this sun? where is outside? do you mean there is something outside the computer room?

I know hydraulics are easier for them, but i like the idea of using 3 servos (perhaps 1 for the tail too) to make a real rc-like heli

    I would love a tutorial.

And by "it uses gyro" do you mean your contraption uses a gyro, or the Servo has a built in gyro just as unstable.

    Wow, that looks awesome!

EDIT: Have someone taken a look at how the SetVelocity-functions work? Do they come in effect _after_ outside influences or before? If it is after, it should be pretty "easy" to create an infinitely powerful servo as you could then basically negate any outside influences and just take into account the relative orientation of the servo-entity itself.
