    Talking Advanced HUD Tools

From this post in "Ideas and Suggestions": Advanced HUD Indicator

    Generic Default:
It would be nice to have a HUD indicator with more options. If it's possible it would be cool to have inputs to control the position of the indicator on your HUD with X/Y percentages of the screen(50 would be in the middle of your screen, so inputs of 50 and 50 would make the indicator appear in the middle of your screen). Maybe more options for the type of indicator like symbols and crosshairs. I just think that having advanced HUD is important for some types of vehicles and stuff. Wouldn't it be awesome if you had a green box around targets while you gun them down in a helicopter? There hasn't really been an update for HUD for a long time and there aren't too many people that use it anymore.
Currently this is very WIP, but it really ceased to be a 'Ideas and Suggestions' type thread a while ago; plus, this way I can update this post with news as I go.

    -=Features=-

The following indicator types are supported:
    • Text (Basic)
    • Text (Boxed)
    • Percent Bar (Basic,Horizontal)
    • Percent Bar (Line,Horizontal)
    • Percent Bar (Basic,Vertical)
    • Percent Bar (Line,Vertical)
    • Basic Target Marker
    • Triangular Target Marker
    • Crosshair Style 1
    • Crosshair Style 2
    • Crosshair Style 3
    • Crosshair Style 4
    • [Corner-to-corner] Crosshair
    • Triangular Rotating
    • [Point-To-Point] Line
    • [Point-To-Point] Box
    • [Point-To-Point] Rounded Box
    • [Extended I/O] Basic Target Marker
    • [Extended I/O] Crosshair Style 3

More will be added as I go along (or by special request)

Colours are partially supported, and will be fully supported soon.

Screenshots: See my website for semi-current screenshots. I'll upload newer ones here when they're taken as well as putting them on that page.

    -=Update=-

Now part of the Unofficial Wire SVN

Get the STOOL by using the UWSVN - details here: Unofficial Wire-Extras SVN (UWSVN)

    Update! HUD2 - http://wiki.garrysmod.com/?title=Adv._HUD_Indicator_2

I'm now working on an Adv. HUD Indicator v2 (Aka. HUD2), which allows in-game scripting of interfaces, including Derma windows/etc! See the end of this thread for current details!

Although I'm working on a new HUD Indicator, I am still taking bug reports for v1 until v2 comes out, and feature requests for v2 are much appreciated!

There is one (well, a rar) on the site, but I'm only going to update that every so often.

If you want the bleeding edge one, get the svn.

For me the best-working option is the Use World Coordinates one, it seems fine to me!

On some indicators it will explode...

Plus, its kinda redundant at the mo, as all that should do is remove the ScreenX/Y inputs and replace then with the WorldX/Y/Z inputs along with a bit of code streamlining.

Thumbs up Re: Advanced HUD Tools

Here is what most of them look like floating around in space. I love this Moggie, once I get some time on my hands I'll have to figure out how to hook them to missiles or a fighter or something like that.

Haha no problem, I was just messing with them last night seeing what all there was, right until the point it quit working because of the messed up toggle.

    -=SVN Update: Rev 4=-

    Added the following types:
    • XY -> XY Box
    • XY -> XY Rounded Box

Both draw as white at the mo because of issues with transferring colours... Fixed soon.

RAR not updated for this revision.
