    I really don't see the use of this..

    ... wow you really dont understand what it does.

    basically, its like a beacon sensor. but you dont link it with a target finder, instead you give it an XYZ input to face towards.

    for those of you who don't get it: its facing towards a gps co-ord, and not a player. it has many uses.

    if you still dont get it, just follow this simple step to understand what it does:
    1. get a loaded gun to your head.
    2. pull the trigger
    3. now think about what it is.

    Ok, here is a simplified use of this (one of the best addons ever).
    Lets say we are making a missile right?

    Now, from the location that missile is firing we have a launcher. Let's say we have a constant value, of the launcher's position, for simplicities sake, lets say that position is 0, 0, 0(x,y,z).

    Now we have our target(breen for now), which a beacon that is outputting only x y z, is link to our target finder.

    We now take our targets XYZ: 1000, 1000, 0 and we take our laucher's constant 0,0,0 and we have this e-gate code:

    Code:
    N@ (whatever you want)
    I@ Xt Xc Yt Yc
    O@ X Y Z

    X = ((Xt - Xc) / 2) + Xc

    Y = ((Yt - Yc) / 2) + Yc

    Z = (Distance2Target / 1.25)
    or
    Z = (Some number, my missiles usually use 5000)

    Xt = Targets X
    Yt = Targets Y
    Xc = Missile Launcher's Constant X
    Yc = Missile Launcher's Constant Y

    What this says, is
    X = halfway between the target and launcher
    Y = halfway between the target and launcher

    Now we have our X Y Z of half the distance between the target finder and launcher area. So now we plug those in to the XYZBeacon(the gadget this thread is dedicated too) We link our beacon sensor on the actual missile with Distance, Bear/Elevation outputs. Now we have our missile, so to finish it off we would make some more code to our e-gate that says when it reaches the half way mark to change the e-gate outputting X Y Z to the XYZ of the target.

    If you still can't figure out what this awesome gadget is for, then heres a even more simpler set-up:
    Gather some XYZ points on the world, and have a bot patrol them with the XYZBeacon.

    If you still can't figure out, give up and go back to playing Hello Kitty: island adventure, you weren't made for this.

    Hey dotti, can I commit your xyz beacon to an extras SVN that I am opening soon?

    Oh, and to help out, xyz beacon is this: It allows you to directly feed coordinates into a beacon sensor, without a complicated system setup.

    For example, you could do this with a missle system, where all you need to do is put a beacon sensor on it, link it to the xyz beacon, and input the coordinates into the beacon. This is far simpler than using a lot of gyroscope functions.

    what with the hard ways of explaining this thing you guys =.=

    its justenables you to make the locator point at locations on the map WITHOUT beacons to sense the positions of.

    OK i have the XYZ Beacon setup, but it has no outputs, only a XYZ input. How do you link it to the beacon sensor?
