very nice work! keep it up!
I forgot to ask; is it possible to take strings, say from an external source, and add them to something like a table?
Also, can the mic actually record and transmit sounds, lol that'd be insane (I ask because of the Speaker on Blacknecro's solution)?

2 silly / small ideas:
1) Can you make it so it looks like paint is shooting out of the painter's controller instead of just a beam? lol
2) Could you include a model for the Mic that looks like a real-life microphone?
String array gates are done, I will upload them later. Also, yeah, I will add the possibility to link it to a sound emitter. But it will not be able to measure sounds anymore once linked.
1) Umm. At short distance, why not, but at a very long distance, that would look weird.
2) I suck at modelling.I can always do a skin for the ranger, and make it look like more a small microphone, but I suck at skinning too.
Source engine. Well, I actually found a SetHingeFriction input in the axis entity, but it seems that it doesn't work at all. And setting the hingefriction keyvalue doesn't work either.
Also, why am I having the weird feeling that you are one of the only members on this forum who is interested by my work... as usual ? Come on people, how can I improve if I'm not getting any criticism or suggestions ?
Hmmm, that's how I feel about my contributions to the Ideas and Suggestions forum here and on FPS.
I guess you could try producing some small videos showcasing your tools and put them on Youtube and FPS. Maybe putting URL to your threads in your sig :P
PS yeah, long distance painting might be a bit strange.
Edit: Maybe the new "coding challenges" section I mentioned a few days ago would help, and someone else suggested that the winner of each challenge could her their STool/SEnt whatever automatically added to the SVN....?

I love your work too !! I love the string gate add many possibility's .
But can you make a list of what entitys the String decode gate can be linked too?

We just need a "Bill Gates" now, kind of a toll booth type of thing for RP. Sorry couldn't resist :P
*gets award for lamest Wire joke in human history*![]()
Something just occurred to me about the String gates, could you theoretically create components that accept strings as input parameters? So for example you could have a ship's movement control e-gate or CPU with a "Move" input and you could tell it "Left" or "Goto 111,222,333"?
The Wire Painter and Wire Materializer have already string inputs. So, yes, it's possible indeed.
The Entity String Decoder gate can be linked to anything that outputs an entity. And, for now, I think the Target Finder is the only one which does that. Maybe the ranger, but I'm not sure.
Now for Entity gates for comparing entities and stuff.![]()
