Wire Keycards

I'm attempting to convert the Keycard Wallet to Derma instead of plain VGUI so I can use the DMenu control (that little "Drop, Rename" context menu thing) and DImageButton for the keycard icon. But it's not going so well. I'm getting some errors when bringing up the DMenu. It's irritating because there are several backend components (like naming cards) that should work fine, but I can't test them until I get the UI working. And to be honest, the whole UI feels kind of ugly for me. I sort of envisioned something different... maybe I'm going about this the wrong way.[/b]

Are you using the Derma from gmod2007 beta? It has a lot more stuff.

No, I'm not. I should take a look, but I'm thinking of skipping Derma altogether, enabling the screen clicker, and doing some Surface rendering with some keycard textures that slide in from the right. Does that sound dumb?

The Keycard Wallet has kind of fallen by the wayside while I work on other projects I've been neglecting (my dad's CMS, a forum, a photo gallery, my own shoddy website...) There's so much stuff I want to do -- my ideas.txt file is longer than ever. It's like reverse coder's block.

this key card system is great i made a kinda of atm with it but im having a problem with making like a pin system any suggestions on how to go about making one also advanced screens dont work for me is this a common problem as i wantted to make screen go red texted if it encounters a error ect ....

You could use a D-Latch chip, and have a keypad with the pin number as the clock value, but I don't know how you could make it work with multiple cards on the same reader..

Believe me, I am still alive.

But I haven't made much progress on this, and I'm afraid I'll have to redo a bunch of it now that GMod 11 is out. The code is a mess anyway, and a total rewrite couldn't hurt.

Before that, though, I have to fix WireWatch (the SVN feed).

And priority-wise, that's all second to schoolwork.

So... it might be a while. >_>
