Space build actually ignores normal gravity, and replaces it with its own computed gravity. that's why it has planets and other cool stuff,

I might be able to some how force you your keep the direction, but that is for another time. Cause I've spent most of my time the last few days getting that dastardly gravity field to work correctly.

However, I think it makes since this way cause even if you don't have thrusters. Because there is still air, so if you really wanted you could see a guy waving is arms and feet around and 'swimming though the air' , or maybe you have an electric-fan. ^_^

on a side note, has anyone encountered any problems or anything?

I was reading a book called 'seven ancient wonders' by Mathew Rielly, and in this book they have these things called 'warblers'. These devices put out a strong electro-magnetic field that makes bullets go nuts, making a bullet free zone. I would like a 'warbler' field, that affects bullets. Would this be hard for you to code?

Also, good work on progress so far!

The thing you said about Zero G in an air atmosphere and that you still can move around (more or less) makes sense.
And using it in the space between planets of SpaceBuild maps makes no sense because there is Zero G anyway. So it's a good point what you've said there.

But there would be ONE situation I can think of: Using the gravity field on a planet that has no air but a gravity like e.g. on earth.
Using a gravity field generator on such a planet then shouldn't make it possible to navigate around.

That's the only situation though and it's a very specific one. So I don't really ask for implementing this anymore. ^_^
I kinda like that you can move around freely. It's a little bit like the 3D movement version of the arcade game Defender.

I generally don't wire on a planets with no air, makes it difficult to concentrate when your brain is oxygen starved.

I would like to be able to do a 'warbler' field but I don't think Gmod will allow it, since bullets are handled more by the engine and other scripts as effects and what not. So I can't really interact with them.

So I'm afraid its just not much of an option.

Well you could have either established an area with air or have a suit dispenser in range. It all depends on the scenario you want to use it for.
But whatever the case, I admit its applications would be limited to just a small fraction of scenarios and I like it how it is anyway. ^_^

    And about the bullets:
That's the same problem like for the shields from the Stargate addon. They only can stop something that actually "flies" through the air towards them. But because the "normal" weapons like the ones from HL2, CS, etc. don't shoot ammunition that actually "flies" but hits immediately, it can't prevent that, unfortunately.

    I have 2 suggestions:
1: An input to "show" the field, so you can aim it easier.
2: A gas field, like in HL2 Ravenholm and EP2 Freeman Pontifix. You know those neat things that can ignite zombies when you ignite the gas... YABBA MY ICING
[eXs] TP Hunter NL: Is there something you didn't make?
    Black Phoenix: you?

I actually don't think that HeadCrabs really are hostile.

I just think they want to be friends with humans on their way.
And the sounds the zombies make is the headcrabs way to talk.

Yeah, sure, and their slashing you to pieces is just a common welcoming custom to show you how much they love you.

I just used the EMP field on 3 of my friends on my server and it has to be one of the funniest things i have ever seen in gmod. I was laughing so hard i fell out of my chair. You have won a life time supply of cookies.
