I might think about doing more selective effects have toggles for players/props/npcs it would definitely open up more options.

    New Version v4!

I added 3 new field types,

Phase Field: Causes objects to no-collide while in the field.

Battery Field: Restores Suit Energy much like the Recovery Field recovers health.

Acceleration Field: Makes things moving move faster in whatever direction they are moving.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

And as always let me know if you encounter any problems bugs, or have ideas about stuff that might made a cool addition.

    Some stuff I've noticed:
    1. Battery field did nothing on gm_atomic. Haven't tested elsewhere.
    2. Stasis field does not deactivate the stasis effect once you exit the field.
    3. Vortex did nothing.
    4. Flame field affects other field emitters in the same area
    5. Not being able to select a different model is cruel.
Also, any chance of a disintegration field? Or is that already in there and I'm an idiot for not noticing it?

I can't say much for Battery and Vortex not working, as they seemed to work fine when I released v4. I guess I could do some more testing.

What do you mean that Flame field affects other field emitters? All field emitters effect the other emitters. they can even affect them selves if the 'ignore self' is turned off. or Did I miss the point?

I've noticed that the stasis/gravity fields might have some bugs that need to be worked out, I'm currently working on that along with 1 new field for next version.

Maybe I'll add a model selector for the emitter as well.

I don't think that a Disintegration field would be fair. Some of the fields are pretty powerful as is, but that would just be over kill.

    Thanks for all the input

What about being able to add a colour to the field, like aVoN's shields for his stargate pack, so you can tell one from another without having to get too close.

Is there an easy way to limit the number of these spawnable? I would like to limit them to superadmin only, but that takes coding lua. Is there perhaps a console command to limit the number of them to 0 until an admin with rcon changes it?

EDIT: Nevermind, i read through the lua:

    sbox_maxwire_field_device

might be a good idea to put that in the readme or in the post.

Yeah, on a sledbuild server someone used these to mess with players, killing, throwing around, removing gravity.
Superadmin only, or none at all

Yeah, i just set them to 0. If i feel like spawning one, i'll set it to one and then set it back. Way too dangerous on a build server. I had an admin screw around with one earlier. he set a voretex in the middle of the air with a range of the entire map. pulled every player and prop in....bad for a server population.

I did something similar to the vortex field, I randomly picked popcans using the find functions and pulled them towards the expression while pushing them in a clockwise direction using E:applyForce(V).

I'm working on a warmachine, and I've hit upon the idea of attaching a repulsion field generator to it.

As such, a whole mess of stuff would just get hurled away when it tried to attack.

But what bypasses it? And if something is going fast enough, can it hit the generator?
