"Access denied"
It might do that if you have Steam running. Try closing Steam (wait a moment for it to actually shut itself down and disappear from Processes tab) or restarting Windows.
you can use this tool to delete it : Unlocker
it lets you delete stuff that is in use, getting around that access denied message
this requires a correction: Wire consists of 3 different folders that need to be in the addons folder, NOT in a wire folder under addons!
1) Do NOT create a folder named wire under addons
2) Right-click on the Addons folder and select SVN Checkout...
3) Type: svn://wiremod.com/wiremod into the URL of repository text box. Checkout directory should already show the correct folder (ends with ...blabla/garrysmod/addons )
4) Press OK and you're done! Have a cookie () while you wait for TortoiseSVN to download all the files from the server.
5) In the future, to update the Wire addon, Right-click on the Addons folder and select SVN Update.
grabbing only the Wire subfolder from the SVN will leave you with missing models and no advanced duplicator.
It didnt work i had this on my laptop and installed many times so i know how to use it but i got my new computer and installed it but when in the actualy gmod there is no wiremod or adv dup![]()
Ah my bad, didn't actually think it through while writing it. This is indeed the easiest way of getting all the wire-related addons folders.
Please note though that when (for point 5 above) you now select SVN Update for the Addons folder, it will ONLY update those wire-related folders, not all the other svn addon folders you may have in your Addons. So you'll still need to do an SVN Update separately for other addons...
And thanks for the correction!![]()

Are you running Vista, 5yewy5r?
Hey, I just wanted to tell you about a bug that I got while using the SVN auto updater thing. It made my wire folder a non-svn folder, so i had all of the wire installed, but i was still able to check it out, but i think that i have fixed the problem by just checking the folder out with revision checked instead of HEAD revision.
