Sounds sweet.. Like the challenge idea...
You'll definitely see me in your server anyday soon!
Server Name: Revan's Server (Wire SVN/PHX3/Gcombat/+More)
Server IP/Port: 71.224.206.145:27015
Dedicated/Listen: Dedicated
Country/Location: USA -- EST
Password (If Needed): None required usually, if it's locked, the password 'tutorials' may open it occasionally.
Gamemode(s): Generally sandbox however it's possible that it will sometimes run DarkRP or Spacebuild
Other Info: The server is run by me (duh).
Regarding Admins: The server will be constantly administrated to acheive a world in which n00bs are not welcome. I will be giving admin to several friends of mine from the past to ensure a lack of corruption among my staff yet yeild enough admins to maintain a setting in which an admin is almost always present.
Note: Don't ask me for admin powers, that will 90% of the time mean you will never receive them.
A special place for the dev team: To reward the wire team for their dedication, if asked, I will add them as admins to the server, if you're on the wire team and would like admin on my server, send me a PM containing your steamid and you will be added.
Mods: I've equipped the server with all the great mods of our day and I feel that they will be more than enough. With a special UClip addon users may request mods to be added. All mods that have an SVN download available are being used with tortoise SVN and will be updated weekly (or sooner if I care).
Tutorials: I will most likely *not* be willing to give wire related tutorials on the server. I made my tutorial series for a reason. This doesn't mean I won't answer questions, it just means I won't spend 15 minutes showing players how to do things that I've already made tutorials for.
Gamemode transitions/maps: The server will primarily run spacebuild most likely on the latest build of sb_forlorn
Models/Addons/Etc: All these things will be downloaded upon joining. I'm having some select friends help me narrow this list down to make it take less time and allow you all to receive all the mods crucial to our gameplay. In summation, if you're downloading it, it's either a fast download that shouldn't slow you down, or it's a neccesity.
Run Times: The server will most likely run during my waking hours for the next few days in order to isolate the causes of crashes. My day starts at around 2pm EST and ends at 4am EST at the moment. Future plans are to always have an admin on when the server is up.
Contact information: Please post to me here for any complaints suggestions or general feedback you may have. If it needs to be private, a PM can also be sent.

Sounds good, but I'm not too keen on the fact that the server shuts down when you log off. Is this server hosted from your own PC?
I just tried to join and it was offline (5:45 PM EST).
I do really like the "no noobs", "always administrated" thing though. That's how I ran my servers.. there were no warnings for people misbehaving in the server, it was just an instant perm ban. After several weeks, I had a great group of players coming in.. nobody ever causing trouble. I also made sure any admins I recruited had a mic so I would be sure I wasn't recruiting any kids.. I wish more people would run their servers this way.

The server was down for the purpose of updating the mods on it. Several mods were out of date and needed to be changed. I also was afk for a period of time exceeding 30 minutes after this and was unable to return to my machine. I have gathered more admins and it seems like it will become a 24/7 server, however if it crashes I can only restart it if I'm present.
Today is your lucky day. There's a program I used for that very reason a while back and it works like a charm. It's called ServerChecker and will automatically restart your dedicated server after it crashes. I used it for a HL2 server and Ventrilo.

This can also be done using a batch file, but the program works much better (I've used both methods). Of course you'd have to change the command line to work with Gmod. Unlike the batch file method, the program actually tries pinging the server every so often. If it doesn't receive a response back from the server, it will restart it. That way, if you get a windows error report screen when it crashes, it will still restart it (batch file won't do that).
Code:@echo off cls :srcds echo (%time%) srcds started. start /wait srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_dust +maxplayers 16 echo (%time%) WARNING: Server closed or crashed, restarting. goto srcds

Had the batch already but popups got in the way some times... thanks for the server trackerI knew that one existed I just thought it was out of date... apparantly not.
From the 15th to the 20th the server will be shut down. It will also be undergoing work for a shot while after that time to fix several bugs involving various addons. For the most part however, it's working fine.
So what about before the 15th?
It probably won't run again today, I've got an idea to make an auto-piloted spacecraft (w/o hoverballs) and I havn't gotten LS2 to work properly on my server yet... so that leaves little option (considering that I want to work in prime conditions).
Tommorow it will probably be up for a few hours, which I cannot say. Once again the reason that it isn't 24/7 as of yet is do to the fact that it's rather glitchy and would be likely to crash accordingly. In addition, I plan on getting another 4 gigs of ram to support the machine, I'm running it off my personal computer so the extra ram will hopefully help sustain it. Aside from that however, this computer can dish out everything else needed, the specs are generally high.
You really don't need much ram for a garry's mod server.. 1 or 2 gigs is fine. the most important thing is a powerful CPU and good upstream internet speeds. A faster hard drive (10000-15000 rpm) dedicated to the server would also be beneficial. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136054

Well I've got a Q9300 processor... but the RAM is a little lacking at 2 gigs if it's also my personal computer.. trust me.
