    Default Mapping

So, i'm making my first (real) map and i got some problems.
Is it possible to make a func_physbox entity only rotate one way (eg. clockwise)?
    Nova on the old boards.

Instead of func_physbox, try using func_door or func_door_rotating (or maybe it's func_door_rotate... one or the other :P ).

I think it's impossible to make a physices prop freely (e.g. via direct user interaction) rotate only clockwise. Even a ballsocket couldn't...

How does the Axis tool do it, then?

I'm trying to make a in and out "door" as the one in the trainstation in the first HL2 map, so it has to be a func_physbox.

It doesn't, it allows the prop to freely move both clockwise and anti-clockwise.

You nub. We're talking about Hammer, not Garry's Mod.

Try not to call people "nubs," You obviously can have an "axis" in hammer... As for the hl2 trainstation, that thing is 2 way (try it). I'd recommend sliding doors for in/out control or a "rorating door" that moves continually and has an invisible wall to prevent going back through.

Ofcourse, you could goold school and make an actual physical ratchet for it

Ok, well, he got me confused. He said "Axis Tool". There's not actually any "tools" in Hammer, and you can have an axis... it's just not called an axis.

Next time, try shutting up and thinking.

I simply used the Axis Tool as a hint to the person trying to make something rotate on an axis. Given that all Garry's Mod weld/etc tools have to spawn an entity, the Axis tool spawns a specific entity too.

Not entirely true, as those entities are specifically for Garry's Mod and only written in Garry's Mod.
