WinRAR is FTW
It can even make multi-part archives if your compressed .rar (or .zip) file is too big for a hosting site or something.
I use Winrar, but he did ask for freeWinRAR is FTW

Winrar is free. It just has a popup pox to click every time you run unless you register it for a price.I use Winrar, but he did ask for free[/b]
If in doubt, stick your finger in it.
trew. Free free free free free
Why get used to a pop-up when you can get the better functionality without pop-ups from 7-Zip? The only thing WinRAR is good for is split-file packaging. In my experience, only people who want to move large amounts of data (READ: WAREZ) discretely do that with any frequency.Wich you get used to after a few days of course.[/b]
In my personal experience, WinRAR has a more intuitive UI than 7-zip. Ironically, WinZip has an even better UI than WinRAR. But the order of functionality is inverse.
