Today i decided i wanted to play some Gmod with my friends. But when I started it up, i got this!

As you can see, I have every setting at max the background texture aswell as various other textures in-game are extremely low-res.
It is very annoying and makes me not want to play. This bug has also effected other games such as Team Fortress 2.
I even tried updating my catalyst drivers to 10.2 to see if that would alleviate the problem. Any help and response on this matter would be extremely
helpful, I have no idea what the problem is.I will post my computer specs below and any other information that might be useful.
Feel free to ask any questions about my computer if they could help solve the problem! ^_^
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64
CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core ~2.6GHz
RAM: 4096MB DDR2 ~1066MHz
GPU: ATi Radeon HD 4870
Catalyst Version: 10.2
DirectX Version: 11
And I don't know if this could make a difference, but I am currently using the Steam beta UI.
I don't see the issue.
Also, you are NOT an Ancient.
Hurp durp, I am so an ancient! >_> (GLEE!! you can read ancient! ^-^)
You have to view the picture at 100% zoom, and then you will see the scary pixelation much more clearly.
I have the same graphics card. No problems here. Although I run at 1920x1080. Increase your resolution?

Did you check the background texture to, maybe it's low res it self?
Nah, i made it myself. It's 1680x1050, which is my screen res. Here's another pic of the problem in-game.

Did you try to set the texture quality to "high" instant of "very high", maybe it's broken.
I got the same problem a year before...
It occured because I got 'Theme' programs on PC... Extra bars, moving backgrounds whatever. Just colorful and blinking shit.
When I uninstalled them, hooray, I got rid of it.
If you got some of these programs, just try your luck ^.^
:V I tried just the normal high settings and nothing. And i don't have any theme software either. :< i have Windows 7 which looks good enough to not need custom themes :P
Some textures seem to be perfectly fine... Maybe you could try defragging your harddrive. That has helped me when some files worked and some didn't.
I see very little problem with anything but the main menu, but that's probably because I have a crappy computer that can barely run GMod on high...
