give them 4 sheets of a4 paper and pritt stick and get them to build a 10cm platform to hold as many house bricks as possible. I did this and held 8, using little tubes on end

give them an egg, and get them to make a lander for it that will stop it cracking when dropped from a 1st floor window.

Can you tell me which kind of engineering this is, my school offers architectural engineering, robotic engineering(includes engines and using code to command) , and aeronautical engineering

There are 436 nuclear reactors operating today. In all of history, there have been two nuclear reactor incidents, only one a complete meltdown (which was caused by incredibly excessive incompetence bordering on deliberate sabotage). That gives a 218:1 chance of a nuclear accident. Not a very good chance.
