    Lol? For every prop spawned which hasn't been spawned before it adds an entry. When the list is full, boom - server dies.

    Are there any substitutes for Gcombat? I guess I didn't use it that much anyway but still...

    You can try SPD (Simple Prop Destruction) it makes all the props destructible... doesn't have any particular weapons.... (you can build your own with wire :P ) Its simple and it works... doesn't destroy entities AFAIK...

    yeah. sadly Gcombat is a HUGE string table crash source. i had to remove it because we werent getting much over an hour of uptime. after removal it doesn't crash unless i bring it down or a 'sploiter crashes it. from what i hear. a server with Gcombat creates one table entry for the prop and then gcombat creates another for the health of the prop. so it effectively halves the time to crash.

    Sounds like a very, very, very crappy way to keep track of health. Wouldn't it be better to just save a variable to the prop such as "ent.Health = ent:GetMass()" (or whatever the get mass function is) as the player spawns it?

    Hm. Well since I'm a bit bored at the moment I could have a go at my first big project! A new version of Gcombat! If I get past the initial barrier it won't be so hard.
    I just downloaded gcombat 08 off of garrysmod.org (I'm in school at the moment so I didn't already have it here) and the code looks messy. Very messy.

    Ok guys, if I manage to make it, would you help me code the weapons?

    Edit: That's a very big if, though.

    Edit2: I just checked the code some more and it seems like they ARE doing what I said. Saving the health to a variable to the entity. Hm :/

    Edit3: Well this isn't the right thread for this, so if I get past the initial barrier I'll make a dev thread here on wiremod.com And I can ask for help there from all of you, since I'm not too great at lua (yet!).

    Contraption Damage Engine is a small and much more effective replacement for gcombat, its' compatible with gcombat and CDS too.

    BTW, has anyone noticed the new network variable system garry was building? DTVars? It seems to be supporting most network data at the moment, except for arrays.
