This New Year for me has brought nothing short of frustration and sadness...

My Main computer where I do all my Gmod and Wire stuff has been disabled by unknown forces... the machine refuses to boot windows.

Main Laptop Dies... Core Emufox software dev box... and download machine...
Jan. 6
Attempt to resurrect Main computer, success!
Jan. 7
Main Machine finally dies, the horror of POST beeps is nowhere to be found, video card non-responsive, machine will not boot or post, Suspect CPU death.
Jan. 10
Main Laptop Diagnosis Complete. Result, Motherboard failure, power short.
Jan. 11
Withdrawal symptoms of not being able to create devices starting to take effect. The boredom is incredible...

All Projects on Hold

All I have left is a machine my fiance has.... and it barely has enough power to keep a light bulb on...

I have plans to re-build and recover, a new machine is in the works, and the ordering is taking place... however... I've run very thin on available funds... and I've considered all my options.

1. Give Blood - No... fear of very sharp objects
2. Give Kidney - No... See above and I need spares...
3. Beg Parents for money - No... I'm too old for that...
4. Beg on the street - HELL no... it's COLD out there...
5. Beat people up for money - Legality issues remain...
6. Steal from Babies - babies do not have money...
7. Hack into a bank and input a virus to siphon money from multiple accounts. - Not enough information, legality issues also.
8. Beg on the Internet - .... ok, let's try that, but with more dignity...
9. Ask for Donations, for a greater cause? - Too ambitious...
10. Ask for anything anyone is able to give anywhere? - That works.

So here I am, sending a message on the last bit of technology I have... a 366 mhz Dell Latitude CPi with 196 MBs of Ram...

So here I am... unable to complete any more projects for the time being... unable to contribute (much) to wiremod at the moment.

All my main projects? I've been needing to release the code... but I didn't get to it in time...

I got:

FoxI - Menu-based tool system a basic "OS"
FoxCI - Early Alpha of a Command Interpreter, to build an ACTUAL OS on
FoxModem - Built specifically for FoxI and FoxCI (uses the WSR, does work)
Fox's CD-Rom Drive - Alpha Stage, still data writing to do. (neat features! 1 ipb read-write potential & instant track acquisition)

FoxDB - a Super Sekrit Projekt (one of the next projects!)

There is one more project I've been wanting to work on, but those are the main ones I've made the most progress on.

I've also been wanting to start a new Community Project, the details of which I'm still hashing out but I haven't made much progress with because of the absence of a computer (that isn't a dinosaur).

So if your interested in Helping out someone or just have a few bits of change that you can spare, I could use some...

Hey, if it was the other way around, and someones machines died inexplicably within days of each other and they needed a few bucks, I'd give em a few bucks... Try me.

If I don't get much, I'll donate the entire sum to wiremod.com for their work, they deserve it and then some.

Notes: Yeah it's a GTS 250 I LIKE nVidia..., my general rule, always spend more than $100 but less than $200 for a video card, would prefer a 260 or a 270 ... but... I don't know if they would have THAT much more power, need some guidance on this one.


UPDATES!

The bulk of the machine has been ordered, due to the unbelievable generosity of many people (listed in my sig!) from a few dollars to almost a couple hundred! Unimaginable!

The last couple of items are the Video card and a good HD (Just got another donation! :O!) are left, the mobo has a crappy onboard video card (in the event of the card fails, good feature). So I'll be able to get the machine running to the point of at least testing it to make sure the current components work.

When I get a few bucks for the HD, (either from other work or donation) I'll get it, then get windows on it, I'll probably end up going for a dual boot (XP Pro, Win 7).

I'll try to get some pictures of the machine inside and out once its put together and call it "Wire Box" on the Hamachi Network, which I'll try to recover as well.

Lots to do once I get the machine up and running, but I'll keep you guys updated as much as I can!
