A new version of logisim is out. Starting to look like Wiremod.

A new version of Logisim is out with some really neat features. A text screen that takes an ASCII input and writes the caracter on clk. Kind of like the console screen. There is an LED matrix that I think is like the digital screen. There is now a joystick input and a hex 7 seg display. There are some bug fixes too. Its a great program to do heavy simulations like complete CPU's. I would encourage someone to find out how to make .jar addons.

Yeah - I pretty much freaked out when I saw they had a new version. I remember I made a sort of weird like version of the LED matrix a couple months ago and made a couple versions of 7seg decoders - now both of those will be unnecessary haha.

And yes, there is a serious lack of .jar files - I haven't found ANY ANYWHERE. Argh. Anyway...

You can thank me for the dumb terminal I emailed him about it and he said he would work on it. Later he sent be a test version. Damn I love that program.

Logisim: Release history

YES! I love that all non-Legacy libraries are loaded, loving the new component additions as well! There are also alternative versions of RAM (i.e. you dont have to have an input/output on the same pin). And registers finally have an enable pin! I've always had to do weird things to get an enable-like behavior with registers.

All in all, these two updates rock!

I'm still waiting for diagonal wires though!!! I emailed him about it a while ago, though I forget what he said about it.

EDIT: I thought I emailed him about that, but I looked and it was actually asking for hex displays (which are now in ). I'll email him about diagonal wires now .
