Did u get the latest SVN
I was messing around with the virtual keyboard (that I cant turn off with Alt, could someone answer how to do that?) and the expression gate, and suddenly I get this error message whenever I try to validate or create an expression chip no matter what the code is saying I cant access global index 'WireMod' (nil value), something I really cant remember :S
What I did was rebooting my computer, removed the wiremod folder (inside addons, it worked before), and I put it in again. Now when I open the game all the wire stuff is there but the Gate - Expression category is missing! I love wiremod so please help me as fast as possible.![]()
Reinstalled everything and it works now.
I got a new question though.. How do I put in a simple string in an Expression Chip? :S
Like..
if 0 == 0 -> Text = "why wont this work?";
You can't, it is purely mathematical (and accidentally working strings inside could horribly crash it), you will have to use some other gate or chip that can turn numeric values into text to accomplish that.Reinstalled everything and it works now.

Check the documentation (in my signature), and in there you will even find a superb tutorial made by -orb- as a good starting point.Please be so kind and tell me of a good tutorial or such.[/b]
Ok I read through it and learned afew new things (although most of it reminds me of regular programming/scripting), but it didn't say a thing about strings. :/
I mean, how do I use the Virtual Keyboard in a desirable way if it only outputs strings?
You can't, that's what the CPU is for, the expression gate is a mathematical replacement for conventional gates.Ok I read through it and learned afew new things (although most of it reminds me of regular programming/scripting), but it didn't say a thing about strings. :/

So you're saying that the CPU supports strings?
(thanks for giving my questions attention, I'm not as hopeless as you think)
I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty certain it does, and that is what you should use for the keyboard, digital screens and so on.So you're saying that the CPU supports strings?
