Default Getting the quickest answer to your problem(s)!

    Welcome,

First of all, this guide is for you, not for us.

    You probably got linked here because someone can't;
    A. Figure out what you are asking.
    B. Was unable to read what you were asking.
    C. Both A and B.
    D. You weren't actually linked here, but you found this thread on your own because you don't want to be embarrassed in front of everyone. By the way, if this applies to you, you win a cookie .

    Now you have two options;
    A. Get all offended, close this thread and have a 10% chance of getting your answer.
    B. Try to improve your thread and get a 99% chance of getting your answer.

Okay, so you decided to stick around. Good for you!

It's very important to be crystal clear!
The Wired Mind-reading Chip hasn't been coded yet, nobody can read your mind.

A good way to get help is to divide your posts in 3 parts.
    1. The situation. ( <-- It wouldn't hurt to use paragraph titles like this in your post )
    • Which parts do you have?
    • How are the parts set up?
    • How is everything wired?
    • What expression code do you have?
    • What do you want it to do?
    2. The Problem.
    • In what way isn't it working as expected?
    • Do you get error messages?
    • Debug the not working parts. Does it have input/output values?
    3. What have you done already.
    • What have you tried to fix it?

Again, be very clear when writing your post.
    • Be polite! Remember, you are asking for help, nobody has to help you.
    • Use normal english sentences.
    • Don't forget Capitals and . , 's
    • Don't use kiddy-writing. ( Ur, U , PLZ and that kind of crap.)
    • Type "wire_PrintVersion" in your console, and copy the output. Attach it to your post. Very important step!

You are doing yourself a huge favour by forming a proper help request, or if you already made one, editing it. You help us a lot by making it easy to read, so we spend more time helping you.

Put some effort in your post and people will take the effort to help you.
Put no effort in your post and most people will give a rats ass about you getting your answer.

When someone takes the effort to reply, it doesn't hurt you to say thanks. Even if it didn't solve your problem. Just thanks can make the difference between getting help in the future and people reluctantly helping you at all.

Also, another big tip: Don't forget to read the stickies! Many of them have information which could answer your question right away! If not, they do have information which helps to eliminate possible causes. This thread in particular has a lot of steps which GREATLY help both you and us, if you could just take a few minutes to read over it.

    Thanks for reading.

I'd say you should put links to your Keyboard Tutorial and that other tutorial about how to ask properly for help. So, that somebody, who really needs this, can continue studying writing skills

Though while we're at it, Pyro-Fire, it wouldn't be 'specially', it would be 'especially'.

Unless, of course, you take it as dialog. People don't necessarily pronounce every syllable, and therefore "especially" usually comes out as " 'specially."

Wait, you said practically what I did in the broken tools thread .

I will just make my steps thread simpler, and just link to this one.

Edit: I changed my guide to "The Last Resort Guide" and created a megalink thread.
