subversion.exe is a bitch to get working when you are not in the same folder, so i just move into the svn folder and reference the outside folders as ../wire etc

I have never had any problems running svn from an external folder.

Don't be mistaken. Some twelve year old will misread you and put the batch inside a folder in the addons folder, then come here for help.

It's an old problem, but has surfaced once in a while recently with programs I use. Sometimes applications that programmers create, they use a relative path through the shell rather than their own environment. (I don't know the technical way to say it...).

It's just safer to cd and go from there. As I always say, subtle bugs happen.
