I've found alot of people online like to change the models for the resource mods. I myself was told to bind a certain code to a key to get it.. I didn't udnerstand the code, and have totally forgotten it. I searched all over the intertubes for some help, but found none. So finally, i'm posting a thread about it. Can you guys tell me how to change my resource models? Post all the names of the different generators or caches or whatever, i'd just like to know o.o; Thankyou!

Use the model search feature? Or see the models folder for the addon in question?

That's a good idea for getting models, but i need to know the command that actually replaces them o.o;

Each wiremod tool has a convar where they are stored.

Wire_<toolname>_model "models/januus/thruster_flat.mdl"

I.E:
Wire_forcer_model "models/januus/thruster_flat.mdl"

That will give you the flat disc shaped thruster model for use as a forcer (I prefer that model)

However, i can't say 100% that this works with RD or lifesupport etc etc.

EDIT: Well, found something...

ls_liv_mod_model

So that is one of the models...

Use find in the console to find the stuff you want...

"find model"

gives you all convars that has "model" in them

i have the same question and i'm looking for a commande that when i bin a key to it i cna spawn the object . In this case bind a key and spawn the fusion reactor but with a popcan model or things like that . I played with the console for an hour and more and i can't find the model of specific generators , and even if i did , dont what is the next step to acheave my goal.

Ahah! Type this into console:

bind "selected_energy_system path/of_selected_model.mdl"

= your keystroke

selected_energy_system =
energysystems_model
cdsweapons_model
cdstech_model
cdsminutionsmodel
gas_generator_model
gas_storage_model
life_support_model

Or use find model in the console

path/of_selected_model.mdl = Obviously, the path of the selected model. You'll find model's path by simple hovoring your mouse over the icon in the spawn menu. The most popular i've seen so far is:
models/cheeze/wires/mini_cpu.mdl
models/props_junk/popcan01a.mdl
models/combine_helicopter/helicopter_bomb.mdl
This one makes a pretty fusion reactor ^^

MAKES SURE YOUR SPACES AND QUOTES ARE EXACTLY AS DEPICTED ABOVE\
or else it wont work o.o;

Questions?

Yeah, did you think about using alias so that you can cycle the models?
