    Thumbs up

    Hi there.

I was wondering why there is no Wire-Motor, just like the normal one? I tried using the wired wheel, but couldn't get to a satisfying solution:

    Solution 1:
Spawn two 1x1 metal plates, use one plate (lets call it plate1) to create the wheel on, weld the other one to the wheel (lets call this one plate2). (Tried to keep everything centered)
While this solution works quite well, it has one problem. If you weld something (big) to plate2, plate2 gets quite wobbly, eg. you can shoot at the big attached object and it wobbles really annoyingly...

    Solution 2:
Spawn two 1x1 metal plates. Axis both together (on their center-point, makes things easier). Create a wheel on one of the plates (try to center the wheel aswell, so it is close to the axis). Weld the other plate to the wheel.
While THIS solution stays perfectly put (no wobble) you have to be VERY precise to even get the wheel to move the welded plate which makes this very inefficient...

The problem of solution 2 seems to be either:
    - The wheel/motor is not strong enough
    - Welding is no good Idea, not something more flexible since, the wheel isn't attached perfectly to the axis

    Any ideas?

I'm not entirely sure as to a 'normal' reason why there isn't any wired motors...

But I just use wheels and motors that are normal, like under constraints/construction, and then use a wired numpad output.

It seems to work fine for me.

The reason why is because it would just be a wheel with a different model, and you can chang ethe wheel model anyway.

And why would the wired wheel "suk"? Is it so bad that no-one would miss it if it was deleted? How would you make land-based (not hover) vehicles without it?

Do you use smartsnap? with smart snap you can put the wheel exactly in the middle of the plate.
what are you trying to build? perhaps there is a better way to do it without using the wheel.

    wheel model + axis stool + engine[/b]
Which is a sort of why-use-one-part-when-fifty-will-do idea...
