this message is spammed in console, over and over again... its seriously starting to piss me off and it creates some lag!!! yes i have checked the ultimate guide to problems, ive tried them they do not work...

entities/gmod_wire_textscreen/cl_init.lua:124: attempt to index field 'GPU' (a nil value)

pleaaaase someone help me with this...

Read and do the entire guide and your problems should be solved.

as i have said on my first post.

if this guide will actually help me... please tell me what part, because i have tried all the stuff there (well kinda) but i really want to know which one is gonna help me with this problem!!! ive tried verifying cache files, reinstalling garrys mod, deleting cache files, YES my wire stuff is in the addons folder, not in another folder...

edit: when i come back from school, i will take screenshots.. sorry for not doing this sooner.

I'm having the exact same problem.
Also, don't go all peeved at me. I'm posting this here because if a thread for it already exists, you might aswell not make a brand new one. I would take pics, but for some reason, my computer refuses to do so.
Anyways, I get the exact same message on ANYTHING that displays text.
Console screens, text screens, even just normal screens.
They ALL spam that message. (Replace textscreen with screen or w/e though)

How to replicate the problem?
Simple. Make a screen.

I've tried about 7 SVN re-installs, along with 2 using the "This is too complicated!" thing.
After all of those failed, I got a friend who had a perfectly fine copy to upload it somewhere for me... it still failed.

Help.

Then install ONLY wiremod and see if it still happens.

The solution is just:
garrysmod/garrysmod/settings folder and render_targets or something like that (backup first), should be in .txt format. Delete everything in this file, should be 1 or 2 lines, then save and start gmod.
I had this problem too, after clearing this file the lua error just disappeared and all Screens are visible again..

Im not at my Comp right now so I cant tell you the exactly name of the file, cos no gmod here. *sad*

And you are all wrong with the Stickies, there is no solution for this in stickies, I found the solution 3 Week ago, because me and someone else here had that problem too and noone know whats wrong.
I dont know too what causing this problem to this error, but I know how to fix lol :P

So add it to the "ultimate guide to solve problems" thread, so the Thread can be more ultimate.

Edit: the files are located here:
garrysmod/settings/render_targets/WireGPU_RT_11
garrysmod/settings/render_targets/GModToolgunScreen
Delete both files, backup first, or just move to any other backup folder.
