Thread: Wired Damage sensor!

    Hey!
    I had this idea ages ago, but i couldn't think of a good name for it!

    It's called the "Wired damage sensor"!

    This is how it might work:

    You give it a cirtain number, which it uses as HP.
    If you shoot it, smash something into it, light it on fire or something, it will subtract the damage from the HP until It reaches 0.

    -It outputs the amount of HP left.

    So, with a few logic gates you could make a few really cool things, like:
    * A Base "power core", which if you keep shooting will eventually nuke.
    * A keypad like thing where you have to shoot in the right place to open the door.
    * Or even to add some effect to auto turrets, like if you keep shooting at them they break.

    It could have options such as an effect for when it "dies"

    So, whatcha think?

    I like the idea, could be very useful for scripted stuff.

    But I have another idea for how it could work: It spawns like a prop spawner, you click on the object you want to turn into a damage sensor. It outputs the damage it has received so far, and it has a Reset-input. With a few gates you can still make it work like you proposed.
    Hope you can use my input, I look forward to seeing the sensor in action.

    well, you could but they don't output how much health they have left-

    - The prop spawner idea is a very good one! and you're right, it needs a reset input-
