Sounds like another good idea. Option 2 sounds like it might fix contraption dupes that are already broken.
I am not sure if you can or if garrys code for the duplicator is all that drives A-Dup.
If it is possible, could the props be spawned and THEN properties to the props be applied (weight, etc) and then constraints made. I am pretty sure it currently does Props,Constraints,Prop Properties. Which screws the hell out of hydraulics and axis.
For those reading and don't know why I am requesting this:
When you make a hydraulic between two props. The weight those props are as your making the hydro determines its strength. 90% of the time I make both props 2000 and then after making the hydro I lower the weight to 250. HOWEVER the prop (usually Phx) originally spawned at 16 weight.
Now when A-Dup brings it in it spawns the prop in place at 16 weight and then makes the hydro (which is weak as shit) and then makes the plate 250.
The only 3 ways to fix this are to (1) change the order Adup works. (2) Make A-dup change the weight of EVERY PROP to 2000 before constraining and then adjusting to the desired weight after. Or I have to convince HunterHunted to make every model in tiled 2000 weight normally.
Sounds like another good idea. Option 2 sounds like it might fix contraption dupes that are already broken.
I think what would need to be done is to change the order in which contraptions are copied (when you initially ghost them) before you save them. When you paste the contraption, it just pastes in the order it was copied.
Anyway, this is actually a really good idea. Very well could be the solution to weak dupes.
EDIT: And I think the order is probably Prop, Prop Properties, Constraints. It seems to work it's way outward from the prop you initially targeted when clicked it with the adv dupe gun. To do prop proerties after constraints would mean it would have to work it's way back inward to the initial prop..
