    Default VOTE: Custom models

I've created this thread with vote to generate discussion about custom models in Wiremod, whereby you could use any model you wanted for your Wire components.

I've been after this for a long time and I know many people are dissatisfied with the target finder and beacon sensor models for starters.

What I propose is that if enough people are interested and it's really as simple as this:

    http://www.wiremod.com/forum/wiremod...selection.html

then I'd be willing to add this to as many components as possible (of course I'd need SVN access), alternatively someone else could do it.

There are many practical benefits of being able to choose our own models using this approach.
    * Firstly; YOU get to decide what YOUR contraption looks like.
    * Second; some props are excessively large and/or ugly - which is a serious problem if you're trying to make very compact things. Imagine the crazy stuff we could build if we were able to have EVERY component of Wire as small as the nanochips for example.
    * Thirdly; no new content needs to be produced, no-one needs to produce new models unless they really want to, instead we use stuff that already exists.

OK, in rough order of priority, I'd say these are the components most in need of the custom model treatment *deep breath*:

    Target Finder
    Beacon Sensor
    Directional Target Finder
    Numpad Input
    Numpad Output
    Gyroscope
    Radio
    Two-Way Radio

    Socket Radio
    Relay
Balloon Deployer SEnt *barfing uncontrollably* Sorry LPine.

    Flash EEPROM

    Screen
    Oscilloscope
    7-Segment Display
    Console Screen
    Control Panel
    Digital Screen
    RT Screen

    First reply?

I like being able to choose my own models, and have customized a few of them to suit my likings. I think making nano chips available for each of these would be nice, especialy the target finders and beacon sensors.

I change them quite a bit, like in life support I changed the wind generator to one of the ralistic looking telephone poles, and when LS-Linked it looks like real electrical lines. I loved that in rp_cscdesert.

That's my two cents, I'd like to see more model options for more parts.

    Thanks.
