Basically color changing rope? Doesn't sound TOO hard. Then again, I have no skill in LUA. Sounds cool. Whoever manages to make this gets a![]()
In HL2 EP1, when you were in the core, you had to rearrange the sield bridges to advance in the game. On a panel, there were laser things that indicated where the bridges were. In gmod, this could be VERY useful, as a wire rope like tool. The menu would have 10, (or so,) sections, each with a ON value, OFF value, ON color, and OFF color. You can choose any color, and for each little section, it will act like a indicator. Also, for each section, there will be a value you could set in order to make the rope indicator thing invisible. If you wanted it to be invisible from the start, you could set it to 0, or just do some fancy wiring with an adding gate. Also there would be thickness, a breakable check, and a INPUTS slider from 1 -10, (like in constant values.)
Inputs
Color Range 1 - 10 (or so)
Outputs
(none)
Left Click
Start rope, end rope.
-OR-
Make Controler (like wire winches or hydraulics)
Right Click
Make rope propendicular to prop. (or something like that)
-OR-
Attack but continue. (like wires)
Reload
Reset with settings.
One example is if you had a huge starship, were in a battle, and couldn't tell from the command ship how much of your ship was damaged. You could make an outline of your ship using this tool, and split in sections. By using rangers, you could tell wich sections of your ship were attached, and have the rope indicators turn red in the corresponding spots if your ship was dammaged.
This might be complicated, but if you understand it, feel free to comment or add ideas.

Sounds good, especially if they all have one controller. But you should be able to set the number of ropes to a controller, so that there are not too many inputs to get in the way.
