    Default Holotargeting

    I had an idea, where, if you use some method, you scan an object, enimy, and the holocraph shows it. Then, you walk into the hologram, and press E where you want to target, your car/mech/w/e you want it to be targets that point, and fires.

    Do you mean target a specific point on a model? or a specific point in the world?

    i think he wants interactable holo's
    that return the point where you pressed E

    EDIT:
    for people who don't get it, that point would be RELATIVE to the objects middle (else its useless)

    Well seeing as there isn't an included wiremod addon to get key press directly (without wired keyboard) this will require a new addon.

    This kind of thing would require some uber programming. Holography is an effect, not an object. You would have to somehow get GMod to detect your eye traces to the effects, and that is just the start.

    well anticept, that

    or just do it roughly
    take the position of the player and the rotation. and use that to calculate the point where the crosshair should be.

    that shouldn't be that hard, all you need to know is.
    1. the hight of the camera from the players pos (since the pos is at the feet and the camera isn't)
    2. the amount of length forward from the cam (just trial and error this one)

    That might be quite possible actually...

    Now to find someone willing to undertake such a feat. The sheer amount of math involved might be a problem though.
