Thread: READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE A SUGGESTION

    Things you should not suggest:
    • Wired electricity. (currents, batteries, etc)
    • Length limit for wires
    • Anything which requires a .DLL
    • Multiple wired cameras to a screen.
    • E2 Camera
    • E2 Function to pause current execution (wait(), pause(), sleep(), so on; use timers instead).
    • E2 Function to include code from string or file.

    • E:wirelink() or E:createWire()
    • E2 code / dupe protection
Before suggesting, ask yourself these questions:
    1. Does it already exist??? Maybe it's already in the Wiremod SVN or maybe it's in the unofficial 3rd party Wiremod SVN (http://www.wiremod.com/forum/wiremod...xtras-svn.html) or maybe it's floating around on garrysmod.org or facepunch.com. Make sure you know what's out there already before making requests.
    2. Has it been suggested before? Check by:
      • Using the Search button (top-right)
      • Google is a great search engine, after your keywords, add site:www.wiremod.com/forum/ideas-suggestions/ . Doing that gives good results.
      • Check the list at the top.
    3. Is wiremod.com really the place to suggest? Anything involving other addons doesn't belong here.
    4. Is it REALLY worth someone taking time out of their day to read about, let alone try coding? No-one wants to think of their ideas as shit, but think very carefully before you submit.
    5. Is there REDUNDANCY in your suggestion? For example are you inadvertently suggesting the same thing twice using different terminology (such as "I want a Wired axis AND I want a Wired motor!" - Wired motor becomes axis if it's got no power applied to it *sighs*). Think!
    6. Could YOU implement the idea yourself? For some help with Lua coding look at these:
      Main Page - GMod Wiki - GarrysMod.com
      Programming in Lua - contents
Wiremod Lua Coding - Wiremod Forums
It's not that hard, it's fun, it looks good on your CV, you'll get lots of chicks and remember there's many more ideas than devs, so more devs are always needed.
    7. If you like someone's suggestion, say so! If you like someone's suggestion so much you decide to try coding it yourself, then let them know you're working on it - there's no point of everyone working on the same things.
    8. Don't make "Should X be implemented?" or "Is Y a good idea?" polls. They are totally useless and do not help determine whether or not the wire team will accept a suggestion.
    9. Don't do these things first, that's fine, then you have no use to society and should kill yourself.

    8) Check if andy1976uk hasn't already suggested it a few times :v:
"Our death ray doesn't seem to be working. I'm standing right in it, and I'm not dead yet." - Jamie Hyneman
"Yes, managing the anonymous activity of the entire Internet is a challenge. Shoving the entire universe into a mason jar for use as a personal flashlight would also be a pesky bother." - Karl, BBR

WIREMOD WILL NOT WORK ON YOUR FACE! BUT IT DOES ON YOUR MOM :shifty:

Updated, read it before making a suggestion.

If anyone knows something which has been suggested again and again to add to the "Things you should not suggest." list, feel free to edit or post a reply.

Can we also make this a list of Frequently Asked Ideas? Eg. E2 Functions. The current one seems kindof small.

Not like anyone is gonna read it
