yes you can change models.
Look under wire_* in console to find the tools model you want to change. (ex. wire_value_model )
Some tools don't support changing the model so even with smaller models someone would need to add model change support.
Hi all.
I'm kinda new to wiremod (picked it up two days ago) and utterly clueless on whether I can do this myself, let alone how.
Would it be possible to use the really tiny microchip models in some of the other wire tools so they can be mounted really close together without colliding.
This would allow for easy high precision devices.
The reason I ask is that I'm playing with the classic beginner's project of making a headshot turret, but my accuracy at extreme ranges suffers because I can't place the laser range finder as close to the turret as I'd like. I'm wasting bullets shooting at small or fast moving targets as when the range finder is on target, there's a good chance the turret is just a little bit too far to one side.
I want to know that if the laser on my turret is lighting up Kleiner's left nostril, the gun is aimed directly up his right
Ideally I'd love to see a microchip (or mini chip) models for the following.
Turret - The SMG model is just irritating in all kinds of ways, it's annoying having to weld it sideways to improve aim.
Range finder - The big lens looks great, but takes up almost the entire end face of a phoenix model beam.
Target beacon - Whilst the hula dancer is very cute, she's hard to align to stuff. A cube would at least be easier to set flat. A micro chip would mean I could mount it at the front of the gun barrel and maintain accuracy with all the other gubbins there. (Right now, I have the beacon finder at the back, it works great, but I can't weld other stuff there now)
I'd add a laser emitter to the list, as in the release I have (I believe it's the latest) the range finder's laser seems to be missing, so I'm using madjawa's lasers to make a visible beam that looks nice, but then again, fixing the range finder graphic makes that a bit pointless.
Thanks for listening.

Dang... Hehnone of the three I'm looking for seem to have an entry for a custom model.
Either way, that's half the solution right there, thanksJust gotta work out how to apply it now.
You can use a STOOL to change any model, hitboxes won't update, but with nocollide thats to prob
