    Thumbs up

something that would be cool to add is a magnet that u can turn on/off with wire.

Yeah. Hasn't that already been suggested?
(something that might also be cool is punctuation)

Eventually, it seems like it would be cool to generalize this to electromagnetic forces. You could do theoretical force fields, rail guns, and normal magnets.

There was a lua script for Garry's Mod 9 that acted in a similar fashion. You could give the magnets magnetic fields around them that could push and pull objects. It was pretty neat, especially when you caused objects to orbit around the main magnet.

Having this feature for Wire would be even cooler. (I know the Wire mod is for Garry's Mod 10, I'm just making references to Garry's Mod 9)

il look at if i can add wire support to the existing GMod magnet tool. One idea i have had that would be cool is the magnetic accelerator an ideal candidate for wire control unless you want to press all the buttons on the keypad, in sequene in about 1.1 seconds.

    EDIT:
Ok i have found a problem. There is no lua file for the magnet tool?

i was looking at this as a way for recovering vehicles on my spacebuild dropship (ship stays in orbit and drops vehicles) anyhow i found the magnet.lua file and was trying to convert it to wiremod (with my very very very limited experience with lua) the directory is
in the base of the garys mod folder in the settings folder as far as i can remember... i just couldnt do it at the time due to tooth infection creeping up my face making me sleepy... ahh well if anyone works this out give us a shout

Ok this wont work. Its because the normal magnet does not actually attract anything. All it does is when something touches it it welds itself to that object.
Also if you need to recover things then simply use a turret that targets thrusters or something with forcers with negitive force so it pulls the object in.

You could use a Wire Grabber on a prop, with a ranger, launch your hook twards the object, and if it hits the ranger it will fire the Grabber and hold on to it, then just winch the bugger in or out

Hey wasn't there a bunch of Gravity Manipulation Sents that were points of gravity where they can pull and push objects to a center?

We could have a matter intensifier sent increases the gravitational field (or the opposite),

..and a way of having an electric field around a wire (harder) that lets us make magnetic coils etc by having metal objects move to areas of lower electron density (like into the end poles of a coil)
