You'd need a way of uploading files. I know lua can retrieve them through the http functions, but I doubt it can upload.

i thought about a smaller wiremod server that holds txt files..
they should be accessable via E2-function
the files could be saved like wiremodserver/e2files/STEAM_ID/...
i think it would be cool.. so you could upload/downlaod files and recive files from other people...also you could create a "wire-internet" and display the files on o console screen..
i dunno if this happens.. (i think no)
reasons for wont happen:
- extra server
-costs money
- difficult to code a function with lua? (or c#)

How did garry do with the cloud thingie then? Never used it, but I am pretty sure you can upload through garrysmod itself.

You could use the custom httpRequest() function for this, but it retrieves the source code of the page so you have to parse the text.

Clients include a datastream.StreamToServer - GMod Wiki function, however, when I used it nothing was transmitted. I believe E2/other tools upload text with console commands, storing each character/line at a time.
Stuff like this is being worked on, check out a couple of threads and you'll see that this is already possible ^_^

I think being able to save files permanently onto a server would be a nice idea, but why not just make it save to the server that is hosting the game rather than a separate wiremod cloud server?
Of course, there would be a need for certain restrictions, and a way of disabling the file saving to the server, but it would eliminate the need for having to re-upload files to the server all the time.
I suggested this before, a sort of ftp function. I had found a DLL that is capable of doing this, though people seemed to dislike the idea, and found it rather worthless.
