On my server, I would like to have a semi-permanent infrastructure (the TITS/SHITS, whichever acronym offends you more, as well as some healing booth type things). However, when the owner of a contraption disconnects, wire freaks out. What I think it's doing is this; it looks at the prop and says "Ooh, a owned-only command is being called on this prop. Lemme check who owns it. Okay, Schilcote owns it. Let's look in his undo list...". Of course, Schilcote has no undo list because HE ISN'T HERE. So it says "I don't see it in his undo list, I guess it must not be his! Well, I'm just going to sit here and do nothing then!". This results in any prop-effecting E2 breaking when the owner logs out (SPP has a "Don't delete Admin's props switch"). It also seems to affect text screens and some other wire entities.

If I'm right as to the cause, it's a simple fix. Just have the owner-checking code, upon a failing condition, check that the alleged owner is actually logged in to the server. If he isn't, then affect the prop normally. After all, he isn't here to care what you're doing to his contraption NOW, is he?
