In theory, for this to work on the Source engine, you would need garrysmod to;
1. Capture and save the frames individually
2. Compile them all into an animated vtf
3. And set that vtf as the material for the object in question.

This would take up around 2Gb for a 5-minute, 50fps video.
Clientside only, I should think...
