Well megavideo is crap, but perhaps a different service might be for the best.
Hi, Turk3/Revan
Can I make a plea, I am finding Revver SO unreliable whichever browser I try to use it in (i.e. I bump into the "500 Error a.k.a. Something Broke" error 19.5 times out of 20 quite literally)
Could you possibly put your videos on another source in a similar fashion to what has been done with orbs? (Putting them on megaupload/video or rapidshare?)
If you could host or stream them from anywhere other than revver I would be very grateful as they are brilliant tutorials, but the problem is that I just can't get to them!!!
Thanks
Well megavideo is crap, but perhaps a different service might be for the best.
ok megavideo is not that great, i.e. you can only watch 72 mins, but on revver at the moment, you can't even get to 1 5 minute video without sitting and refreshing the page for 72 mins!!!
Also, if they were put on megaupload, ppl would have the choice of streaming them from megavideo, or downloading them to watch at their leisure.
I already... sorta... started reuploading them to a new host... though I haven't had the time/been bored enough to transfer many... or even really put up anything that isn't brand new...
As far as rehosting goes.. I probably won't ever really get to it, sorry. What I can say though, is that I do feel the urge from time to time to completely restart my tutorial series' from step 1 to update them and bring them.. well.... about 700 wire revisions forward in time, and eventually I'll act on that urge, and when I do, they'll be on my new host. Till then, sorry.
PS: There's a download video button on the revver page...
Uh, I have already downloaded the only 2 I was able to actually reach
The others I will download, but I literally cannot even get to them. Revver is so buggy, that I often can't even reach to homepage without repeatedly getting the 500 error. Seriously I tried to get to several different tutorials last night, refreshing about once every 30 seconds or so for over 10 mins per tutorial, I got to none of the three and after 10 mins on each I gave up!! The two I could get to (once, when I tried again, 500 error) were great and I downloaded them, but please, please upload them elsewhere, wherever that elsewhere is, as I don't have the time waiting for the 1 in a million shot that revver will actually load the page!!
Yeah... it used to be a more stable host.... my apologies. I find it loads best in Firefox... if that helps at all.
I downloaded a ton of them using a video downloader, but I can't exactly upload them because I know that a) I don't have permission(maybe I do, it's been a while ago that I tried to get it), and b) the video output is black when it's converted to another format.
How is Revver still around if they're so buggy?
Apparently nobody's running Revver, their owner is listed as suspended as far as a legal business goes:

I have declined offers for others to reupload vidoes to other sites in the past and I maintain that decision... I've got mah reasons. Like I said, eventually, like in a month if you ask again (when summer is upon us), I'll reupload.... or... I may even redo all of the tutorials and put the fresh ones on a new site; either way, you win.
As for Firefox not working for you... can't say I'm surprised. It's still a buggy site... refresh until it works, sorry.
lol k
I have one question that has never been answered in any wire tutorials I have seen. The only way I can think to describe it is with an example:
You have 3 or more sets of 8 values, using radios for example, you have 8 values coming in on channel 1, then another radio on channel 2 with 8 values coming in, and then another on channel 3 with 8 values coming in.
You have 8 screens
Is it possible to toggle which set of 8 values displays on the screens using 1 wire button press? (you would have a total of three buttons, one for each dataset) I would like it so that when you select one button it displays the dataset linked to that button, regardless as to the values being outputted by the other buttons at the time.
I have tried to figure this out using routers and things, but that way only seems to work with 2 possible datasets, how can I do this for more than 2?
P.S. sorry, this is almost certainly in the wrong place
P.S.S. thanks for all the tutorials that I have been able to see that you have done so far, they are all excellent.
