Cool The Smoothest GMod Train EVER

As said in the youtube description
The smoothest ever train in GMod made without PHX transportation props Using PHX3 and partial Wire The first track is longer but has some wobbly parts on the corners due to the size of them, rather the second track flawlessly makes it round corners Song - T.I & Rihanna - Live Your Life WMM messed up big style with quality and speedyness , sorry guys

The video is still being processed as it says and it looks awful near the end, so just leave it a while and it will look hella better

It's rather slow to be calling it smooth in my opinion, you probably walk faster than that.

That's something me and my friends did quite sometime ago, I "designed" the train, it turned out very very smooth, it can even go a lot faster than they without stuttering. Check the second part, the bobbing is just because it goes so much up and down.

Seen that video before, its awesome though i have still to figure out how the fuck you got that so smooth, mine is slow because its accidently using a 5 mph limiter to prevent derailment with multiple trains at high speed. Trust me it can go a hell of a lot faster. Do you mind telling me your secret for your coasters smoothness ? Maybe in pm? or not :C

It's really simple actually, you can see the design in the video at certain points when it bobs.

The basics is simply 4 of those square PHX-frames (with holes in the middle). Then you put them nocollide them with each other, and make them overlap.

    Code:
    0000
    0XX0X
    0X 0X
    0000X
     XXXX
Kind of like that (illustrated as two opposing frame squares, 0 and X), basically you make a larger and thicker frame from the 4 separate frames, make it slightly tighter than the monorail-track itself so it grabs. Then simply weld them all together. Voila, duplicate and attach them to some base structure and it should all work.

Look in the video (0:13-0:15 is a good spot) and you'll probably see more precisely what I mean (also, try different physics properties).

It can take quite a lot of tweaking to get them just right, I think I redid it like 10 times, changing the size of the hole and making the fit better. Either way, when aligning the pieces, do it manually, it's not really hard, you could also use a plate (to assist) to keep them level, but I didn't.

EDIT: Wait I just checked the video, I described the first version of the train, either way, it's the same idea, just that instead of being aligned in the corners as a bigger box, they're aligned at the top/right/bottom/left, forming a "hospital" symbol.

Isn't there a set of PHX props designed for making roller coasters under the transportation props section?

Yes, there is, but the aim here I believe was to create such a vehicle without the use of those props.

Essentially, without taking the "easy" path.

There weren't when we were making ours at least, PHX2 wasn't even out back then I believe. But I'm not even sure that premade props would be better, the slight springiness of the cart proved to be a good thing as it wouldn't stick to edges and "clonk" all the time.

I haven't seen the transportation props though.

...and here I thought Syranide was just a straight wierererererer. That's the best damn Gmod roller coaster I've ever seen -- good song choice also.
