Sorry, no video. It cannot fire things very far, but that is not why I made it.

It is almost fully automated, at it works similarly to a real trebuchet.

Put something in the beam coming out of the barrel, and press "4" until the beam turns red. Then double tap 7", and watch. It should (if the duplicator save worked) fling the" object, then pull itself back to it's original position.

The little bucket on the side spawns melons (there is a little button), what I tested as ammunition.

Oh, and I know there are lots of ropes. I kept adding more for stability as I went, and I kind of went overboard. The machine is very stable though, and it self corrects most problems.

That's pretty cool I just made my first working trebuchet this afternoon, though it doesn't use wire yet, but fires a good football field or so.

Some suggestions (that help real trebuchets)
Wheels are good, if your trebuchet can still remain stable with them on.
    Heavy ammo actually goes farther
    And thats all I got

It looks really good, looks old... Mine looks really cheaply thrown together

I actually tried wheels, but when the trebuchet fired, it would move around. I decided to just "mount" the trebuchet instead of making a "lock" mechanism.

Very nice one! However, I belive that you can get alot more power out of that trebuchet if you use an old formula. The relationship between the ropes, the rope that holds the weight and the rope that holds the projectile, the length of the arm, and where the axis joint should be.

The height should be, if I remember correctly, 2/3 the length of the throw arm.
The arm should be axised 2/3 down the arm. And the rope that holds the weight should be just alittle longer then the 1/3 of the arm thats "left"(the short part from the axis joint). And the rope that holds the projectile should be long enough so the projectile rests somewhat under the weight. And by attaching wheels you get more power. Sounds strange huh ? But thats the case.

I just cant seem to find the formula atm on the net, but check my vid. Its a small trebuchet but built accordingly to that formula.

    Just a tip.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the equation, I will have to remember that next time I build a trebuchet.

Very good to know the most efficient dimensions.
