... What? Where in my post did I say anything about expressions? And what 'fact' is it you have that tells you what I do and don't play gmod for? What the hell does that have anything remotely to do with what I even said? (Which was about large contraptions lagging in your case)

Ok, let's let BP have his thread back now.

Some people prefer aesthetics over functionality, some prefer functionality over aesthetics. If you want a sexy, laggy plane, fine. If you want a simplistic, well-flying plane, fine.

To each his own.. just quit cluttering up the topic. Complain about PHX+Wire in your own topic.

This is the wiremod forums. Why you would use an argument about not using wiremod in-game? So what if people play gmod to write lines of expressions, or cpus. It's part of the game when you have wire installed.

Very nice, I'll have to try them. What is that map? Looks perfect for planes.

agreed, stop criticizing bp's planes unless its constructive feedback.

what you lot have been posting, i don't call constructive.

I tried out the planes and a few would not leave the ground. About half would not takeoff.

Do you have the fin addon installed?

Some great-looking planes there. Any videos?

You mentioned using fin, but have you used it to create propellors or just for wings surfaces?

Those are some nifty airplanes I must say.

All three of my airplanes I spend countless hours on either: Didn't go higher than a few feet, or flew for a few seconds then spiraled out of control.

    Any of you know:
    • Where should the weight be, more centered or less in the middle, or more on the sides?
    • Where should the fins be placed, and use only "nolift"?
    • What settings/weight(if any) should I use on a propeller in the front?
    • I tried using Wire Hydraulics for the flaps, but they ended up being weak, slow, and flimsy. So I tired using Wire Wheel + Adv. BallSocket the flaps (with rope constraints), but it would get stuck when it hits the limit point, so I changed the weight and now it flaps all over the place at lift off and I can't get them to be stable and working for the few seconds of when I am flying.

    1) I try to centre it as much as possible. You want to be able to pick the plane up, then just release it and for it to fall straight down i.e. not pich or roll. You want that good centre of gravity.

    2) Nolift for tail-type things (can't remember what the little ones on some wings are called), and one of lift modes for everything else.

    3) Weight: 10, 20, 50, 500 it's all good lol. The thing to remember is the wheel (if you're using one) needs to be a multiple of that weight otherwise it'll flop about. So the lower numbers make more sense unless you want the plane to weigh 30,000 or something by the time it's finished. As for propellor fin settings: 70 - 90 works for me.

    4) Try using friction with your ballsocket and/or the wheel itself.

What control surfaces are you aiming for? Ailerons? Elevons? Rudder?
