I had this idea the other day that would be really neat, if I could correctly pull it off. Having watched many episodes of shows such as "How It's Made" in the past, I've seen a good deal of video of industrial robots that cut and assemble things like car parts or electronics. I was thinking, could this be done in Wiremod? The idea would be that you would give the program (This would have to run on CPU to avoid massive lag.) a series of commands, and have the necessary props either spawned as needed by the setup or set in place beforehand. The program would interpret the commands to correctly locate the objects, grab them, move them, rotate them, etc. to produce near-identical copies of the object to be made each time it is run.

I know this is sounding confusing, but it could produce useful things like missiles en masse without the use of the advanced duplicator. Or it would just be a really cool quirky contraption. Opinions?
    Too late my brothers!
    Too late, but never mind...

That would be a great idea.
On the newer How Its Made the new guy sounds all congested so I do not like the new ones.

I haven't had any time to work with it, or even to get on Gmod, but I should have time now.

Edit: Alas, I am not at home! Oh, well.

You might find the Stool turret useful for this.

But why always to do the easiest? Would be cool to have a "real" robot to do the work, no ugly floating turrets shooting things.. Some creativity and you're done! Maybe not the easiest job but good thing to try..

This sounds like a great idea, if somebody made it I think it would be amazing.

Unfortunately there have been many threads asking about assembly lines that don't just color boxes. None of them have gotten anywhere.

Yea.... Eventually as in the average person's eventually, or eventually as in "VALVe"'s eventually?

(note, the following link implies what VALVe's idea of "eventually" is...)

    ''Valve Time''
92% of teens have moved onto rap. If you are part of the 92% that has moved on to bigger and better songs, copy and paste this into your signature.
98% of teens smoke, or have smoked before in their life. If you are part of the 2% that hasn't/doesn't, copy this into your sig.

To edit your sig, scroll up, click on "My Controls", and find on the left under Personal Profile, "Edit Signature"
Note: Best done on a connection speed that isn't as sucky as dial-up... DUH!
