I need help. I am trying to switch from applyAngForce to applyTorque. I only need the thrusters to change to a desired pitch. I know I can do the cross product of the thruster's up direction vector with the desired direction vector and plug that into applyTorque, but how do I find that second direction vector?

lol I thought you told me you weren't going to use applyTorque? Hehe, w/e just hit me up when you get back I can explain everything about it

EDIT: Do you mind if I could borrow that model of your V2? I suck completely at asthetics and your design is superb.

Nice work! You finished what I planned to do nine months ago. Link

Unfortunenatly I have to start all over again and learn all the E2 stuff. Never worked with E2 till now...

Your model looks awesome. Are those custom parts?

This is sweet, it inspired me to actually do something decent in E2, and I've finally figured out how to use applyAngForce correctly.

The thrusters seem to jitter a bit, but it's stable and flies well.

I think it works quite well for my first attempt at an E2 that doesn't involve holograms or facers at some point. There's probably improvements in the code I could make, but meh, it works (albeit at about 500 ops ).

lol I made one as well, about 1 day after he posted his, except mine uses appyTorque cuz I was having serious gimbal lock problems.

All the thrusters pivot on both X & Y axis, so it will also come to a complete standstill as well as righting itself.

I talked with Baylock and thats why he's wanting to start using applyTorque . I suck at asthetics so I was hoping we could work together to use my method and his body design.

Also I made 2 versions of this, 1 that is WASD controlled, and another that is a follower, the one in the pic is the follower

I have no problem releasing it, but this is Baylock's thread. I'm more interested in working with him to create a realistic looking/flying hk-drone and maybe upscaling it to an HK-Aerial

Hey DeFraggle, I was completely fascinated on how you made yours when I first saw it, I guess I was kinda inspired by your 2 versions. It took me a while before I had the "know-how" to actually make it.

Nice work on your own versions, I'm glad I have inspired a few of you guys.

Jay, I wasn't able to get ApplyTorque with quaternions with niether your code nor the code from the tuturial on quaternions, but I found there are other ways to use apply torque. I actually have no problems at all with Gimble Lock because my thrusters only use pitch, they dont use any other direction, but applyAngForce seems to have a rebound effect when I change the amount of applyAngForce I'm using.

I don't know If I want to make the HK-Aerial, I was actualy planning on making a Halo 3 Pelican which would use similar technology to the HK-Drone/Aerial.
